LOU Barksdale Clubhouse (Boys & Girls Clubs of North Mississippi)
Description
Since 1996, the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Mississippi have been serving youth ages 6 to 18 by providing children a safe place to go after school and during summer months.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Mississippi have five clubs serving more than 1,800 youth in Lee, Lafayette, Tippah and Union counties. It is committed to meeting the social, physical, and educational needs of children through quality programming. “The Club” is a great place to be and it knows that great futures start there.
Club members enjoy a variety of activities including homework help, tutoring, mentoring, basketball, video gaming, professional ballroom dance lessons, exercise classes, technology discovery through our computer labs, art lessons, civic leadership clubs, entrepreneurship workshops, and self-esteem workshops.
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Mississippi is to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens utilizing core programs and partnerships that focus on academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
United Way of Oxford-Lafayette County helps fund the agency’s Power Hour program, which provides homework and tutoring assistance to Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) Barksdale Club members in first through third grade in order to improve reading proficiency and on-time grade progression.
After School Hours:
2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Summer Program Hours:
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
